Newly reopened Valley hotspot The Foundry is wasting no time at all asserting itself on the Brisbane nightlife scene, announcing the commencement of new monthly event Pesci's Club Night ("It's Not Bad, It's Good!") from next week.
The nascent club night is the joint product of Mucho Bravado mastermind Ben Preece and Tom Bloomfield, of ascendant local outfit WAAX, the first event will boast a live performance from Melbourne songstress Ecca Vandal — her first headline show in Brisbane, so it's a preeeeetty big deal, guys — along with the good folks of WAAX and the soulful sonic explorations of MKO, with presale entry keeping things at a cool $10 (plus booking fees) and $12 tickets on the door.
With an informal eye set on being the Queensland equivalent to Sydney's renowned SOSUEME events, Pesci's Club Night is "committed to providing the best live music experience for both punter and performer … destined to become a cornerstone of Australian music for emerging artists, a go-to event for the loyal community of Brisbane gig-goers and, ultimately, just a bloody good time for all involved".
Well, then — count us in.
The first Pesci's Club Night event kicks off at The Foundry from 8pm next Thursday, 27 August, with future events being held on the last Thursday of each month.
