They're telling us that they've been obliged to change the date of their Brisbane show and who are we to question (we will of course). According to a statement released today, The Darkness "have been banned from performing on the same day as AC/DC in Brisbane"! It goes on with a lot of gloriously silly stuff about "City Health and Safety executives" decreeing the potential combine "rock" power of the two bands performing on the same might bring buildings down, etc.
Yes, The Darkness are definitely back and not only with a new and fourth album, Last Of Our Kind, released in June, but also with a new drummer - Rufus Taylor, son of Queen's Roger Taylor no less. As to when The Darkness will now "safely" play Brisbane (they'll still be at The Tivoli), go to theGuide for updated gig details.
