The Archibald Heads To Regional Galleries

Catch the Archibald Prize touring exhibition in regional galleries across the country from October.

Australia's favourite portrait prize the Archibald Prize trots its finalists across regional NSW and Victoria from October 2015 until July 2016. The Prize opened at the Art Gallery Of NSW last month. 

The touring Prize includes the full 47 finalists, including Jason Benjamin's portrait of veteran muso Paul Kelly; Julian Meagher's portrait of Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns, Angus McDonald's portrait of Perth singer-songwriter Abbe May, and thirteen small portraits of Noah Taylor by Paul Ryan.

The winner of the Packing Room Prize was Bruno Jean Grasswill with his portrait of beloved Aussie actor Michael Caton, and the winner of the Archibald Prize was Nigel Milsom for his portrait of Sydney barrister Charles Waterstreet.

The Prize will exhibit at Art Gallery Of Ballarat, 2 October to 15 November; New England Regional Art Museum, 20 November to 10 January; Tweed River Art Gallery, 15 January to 28 February; Manning Regional Art Gallery, 5 March to 17 April ; Lake Macquarie City Art Gallery, 23 April to 5 June; and Blue Mountains Cultural Centre, 11 June to 24 July.
