Skull And Bones Records are pleased to announce two brand new signings for 2011; Queensland’s The Ailment and Victoria’s State Of East London. Both acts have delivered impressive debut albums to be released March 11th and April 1st respectively and will be touring nationally around Australia in support of the releases.
Emerging from the underbelly of Queensland’s Sunshine coast, The Ailment started cultivating their blend of death metal and modern hardcore in late 2008. Releasing an independent EP, “Evolution into Apocalypse” in mid-2009 and performing heavily throughout south east Queensland, the 5-piece entered RTD studios on the Sunshine Coast to produce their debut full-length album, “Dead Ends”; 11 tracks of brooding emotive heaviness combining the technicality and brutality of modern death metal with bouncing grooves and crushing breakdowns. With a devastating live show and admirable dedication to their music, this band seems to be moving rapidly towards the forefront of the Australian heavy music community.
Melbourne’s State Of East London have come with no holds barred following on their independent 2008 EP release, "Animasitas", and delivering what looks to be one of 2011’s heaviest releases in their debut full-length album “Repugnance”. With dark brooding sound scapes building on the foundations of death metal and creating a sound they can call their own, the 10 songs of unrestrained animosity grab the listener by the throat and leave them with a Chelsea smile upon the apocalyptic conclusion of the record. After touring extensively throughout 2010 and building a solid fan-base with their relentless and energetic live performances, State Of East London stand as an act driven by pure aggression, strong beliefs & the overwhelming desire to captivate then destroy the world on their rampage.
Presented by Strike Hard Bookings and Skull And Bones Records, Both acts will be devastating venues in April/May on the 16-date “Repugnance” tour, showcasing two of Australia’s most exciting new prospects in heavy music. Be sure to catch these bands on the following dates:
