UPDATE: Due to weather conditions, the grand final will now be held at Penny Black, on Thursday 21 April from 6:30pm.

The Sydney Road Brunswick Association Short Film Competition is back with cash prizes for emerging film makers.

Beginning in 2007, the comp invites talented filmmakers to experiment with different genres, develop their skills and creative storytelling techniques.

There are three prizes to be won over two categories - films of any genre featuring Sydney Road Brunswick ($3,000), Music Video ($1,500), and the Judges' Encouragement Award ($500).

Films for both categories can be a maximum of five minutes and will receive screenings at Penny Black and Bar Estrella, where three professional judges will decide on Ten finalists. Those finalists will have a further starlight screening at the outdoor park in the recently constructed Wilson Avenue Park.

The screenings take place through early April.
