The UK alt-rock heartthrobs will make fans swoon at large-scale concerts this July

British-bred but wholeheartedly embraced by Australians, The 1975 have announced a pair of headline shows as part of their antipodean visit this July for the Splendour In The Grass festival in North Byron.

Following their appearance at the annual camping celebration of music and arts, the enigmatic four-piece will head to Sydney Olympic Park, Sydney, on Saturday 23 July, heading down to Melbourne's Hisense Arena on Sunday 24 July.

It's little surprise that they're tackling such large-scale venues on this journey, considering their January tour here sold out in all of a few hours, as well as taking out the top spots on the ARIA and iTunes charts with their lauded but laboriously titled second LP I Like It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It.

It's not just Australia that's caught the bug either — The 1975 are spending much of this year destined for arena stages across the US and Canada, as well as racking up festival spots at Splendour, Coachella, Glastonbury and undoubtedly a few more before the year's out.
