The Grammy-nominated muso will swing by for a whirlwind visit in October
Lauded US troubadour Hayes Carll will drop by Australia for a whirlwind two-date tour in a few months' time, in the wake of the release of his fifth studio album, Lovers & Leavers.
The Texan singer-songwriter is making a brief affair of his Australian visit, playing only in Melbourne — at the Thornbury Theatre, on Friday 14 October — and Sydney, where he hits the Factory Theatre on Sunday 16 October.
Carll's first full-length in five years (following 2011's KMAG YOYO), Lovers & Leavers was acclaimed by our reviewer, Chris Familton, as "a languid and casual affair where the songs drift by, conjuring up late, humid nights on the back porch with a bottle for company" and — with a CV that includes a Grammy nomination (Best Country Song, as writer of Lee Ann Womack's Chances Are) as well as a nomination for Artist Of The Year at the 2011 Americana Awards, among other accolades — it's safe to say that he'll provide a most magnetic and memorable performance when he hits our shores in the near future.
Tickets for Hayes Carll's Australian shows are available now; see theGuide for more information.
