“Both artists display bold singular visions, deep musical rigour and an innate understanding of the dancefloor."

Detroit electronic innovator Derrick May and German DJ and producer Helena Hauff have been confirmed to perform at Sydney Opera House’s iconic Studio this December alongside previously-announced festival dates in Australia.

The two techno giants will perform at the venue on December 7 and December 13 respectively, with Sydney Opera House Head of Contemporary Music Ben Marshall describing May as the “founding father of Detroit techno” and Hauff as “perhaps the most thrilling techno DJ working right now”.

“Both artists display bold singular visions, deep musical rigour and an innate understanding of the dancefloor,” he said.

“With the Studio's second-to-none sound, markdown these two visceral evenings of world-class driving techno as not to be missed.”
