TAPERJEAN RECORDS 3RD BIRTHDAY SHOWCASE

Most people don’t remember their 3rd birthday. Ok, maybe some cake and

party hats at most, but the party people at TAPERJEAN RECORDS have taken

it

upon themselves to make theirs one to remember.

Following some late night contemplating after watching Almost Famous, and

talking his way into a $3000 bank loan, Taperjean Records was formed by

Andrew Perumalla and released young Sydney act Smithtown Riot’s first EP

in

2005.

Having since released 15 records in 3 years, including the likes of local

stars Closure In Moscow, Fifty Sixx and The Mission In Motion and

internationals Copeland, Limbeck, Cartel, and many more, TAPERJEAN RECORDS

has grown into a fully fledged independent force, showcasing individuality

and honesty above all else.

2007 saw a huge turning point for the label, entering into a partnership

with

Stephen Wade, founder/ owner of Select Music. This gave the label

opportunities to tour its international acts and in doing so gave more

scope to the artists they had signed.

“I am proud to be involved with Taperjean Records and am looking forward

to many more years of releasing quality music from around the globe. The

thing I love most about Taperjean is that is a music label based purely on

the love of the acts we are involved in” – Stephen Wade

The party everyone is talking about will be held in Sydney, and will

feature Fifty Sixx, Closure In Moscow and The Mission In Motion, 3 of the

labels highest achievers. There will be a big sale of our back catalogue

as

well as merch and other goodies to tide over all of our Taperjean friends.
