You gotta love this city.
The annual Sydneyvision song contest is opening its doors to local singer/songwriters again this year, calling for entrants to pay homage to their "iconic" suburbs in song. Grand prize is $2000 and a slot at the annual Newton Festival.
Presented by Newtown Neighbourhood Centre, the Sydneyvision song contest is free to enter and open to musos of all ages. Monetary runner up prizes, including a peoples choice award, are also up for grabs, with the only specifications being that all entrants must be original songs that feature their suburb of origin by name. Entrants have until August 1 to register.
