“It's Such A Trap”: Meg Mac Refuses To Be Another Tragic Tale On 'It's My Party'

Sydney's Gordi Shakes Hands With Mushroom Music Publishing

Go Gordi!

More Gordi Gordi

Young Sydney folktronica act Gordi has revealed she'll be penning a publishing deal with Mushroom Music Publishing, expanding the 22-year-old's horizons with representation outside Australia and New Zealand with BMG Chrysalis, too.

Joining Mushroom Publishing's ranks along with Chet Faker and Vance Joy, Gordi said of the signing, "When I told someone recently that I was signing to Mushroom Publishing, they told me it was the best decision I would make in my career.

"After meeting the whole team and getting to know Linda and Erol, I have every confidence that Mushroom Publishing is the place for me. I know how much they value the creativity and individuality of their artists and I couldn’t be more excited to have their support."

The signing comes hot off the heels of Gordi, real name Sophia Payten, releasing the single Can We Work It Out just last month; she'll also be heading to Brisbane for the annual BIGSOUND 2015 music conference.

Mushroom Publishing's Head of A&R Linda Bosidis, says, "Her natural humour, tenderness and ease with the audience is striking. Her songs express personal experience, they radiate a familiarity and form a swift knowing bond with the listener. We are thrilled to the core to be working with Gordi, bring it on!"
