Sydney Upstart Sampa The Great Announces Headline Show Dates

Presented by the Cool Accidents Singles Club

More Sampa The Great Sampa The Great

Swiftly rising Zambia-bred, Sydney-based performer Sampa The Great has enjoyed a solid boost to her profile following the release of her truly excellent debut output, The Great Mixtape, all of a month ago, and she's putting it to good use by hitting the road with an eight-piece live band for a pair of shows in Sydney and Melbourne next month.

In collaboration with the Venue Collective-backed Cool Accidents Singles Club, Sampa The Great and her band — led by producer Godriguez — will perform on Wednesday 11 November at Sydney's Newtown Social Club (with support from Wallace), and Friday 13 November in Melbourne, at the Northcote Social Club (with Vulture St Tape Gang).

The Great Mixtape has done wonders for the ascendant muso since its release, snaking its way onto radio waves both local (it was RRR's album of the week) and international (noted US station KCRW pricked up its ears for the work), while a recent support slot for Wondercore Island roster-pals Hiatus Kaiyote has helped the outfit assert themselves in the live arena. You can give the release a listen below.

Tickets for both of Sampa The Great's headline dates are available now (Sydney/Melbourne). For more information, see theGuide or check The Music App.
