Ten Sydney psych bands get Loaded
Tuesday 27 October is the second anniversary of the passing of iconic American musician and songwriter Lou Reed. It's also the day a revisiting of the classic 1970 Velvet Underground album, Loaded, is released, a tribute featuring contributions by some of Sydney's finest psych rock bands. Curated by Sydneysiders Montes Jura, the compilation features The Upskirts, Burn Antares, The Grease Arrestor, Salvador Dali Llama, The Pinheads, Raindrop, Bad Valley, D'luna, Montes Jura and Lizzy Cross & The Infinity Snake each performing a track in their own inimitable style.
The first single lifted from the album is Burn Antares' version of Who Loves The Sun. With The Grease Arrestor crew on DJ duty, The Upskirts, Salvador Dali Llama, Burn Antares, Bad Valley, D'Luna, Raindrop, Montes Jura and Lizzy Cross will gather at the Factory Theatre 7 November to launch their tribute live.
