Leave it at the door.

Organisers of Sydney club, Number56 have taken the interesting step to ban mobile phones and cameras from the dancefloor.

Speaking to TheMusic, event organisers say the move has been put in place in an attempt to: "recreate the atmosphere that Berlin has become famous for."

"...people can be themselves, concentrate on the music and have adventures with their friends."

Club-goers will be asked to hand over their devices to security staff upon entering the club, who will then store them away in secure lockers.

It is indeed rare, but not the first time an Aussie nightclub has banned phones and cameras from its premises, as Melbourne club, Freakazoid implemented the same policy in the 90's.

Meanwhile, Number56 has made quite a name for itself in its short existence, as it consistently changes locations with each underground party that it holds.

The next event will take place on Jun 25 and is set to feature a slew of DJ's, including Christian VanceTrinityFelix Warmuth and more.
