More Bryce Dessner More Bryce Dessner

Sydney Dance Company have unveiled their 2020 program, which features a collaboration between Artistic Director Rafael Bonachela and Bryce Dessner of The National.

The program features three seasons, includes two Australian premiere works, and both national and international tours.

Season one, Bonachela / Forsythe, is comprised of two works from Bonachela, and one from American choreographer William Forsythe, which will then tour to Melbourne.

World premiere Impermanence is Bonachela's collaboration with Dessner, his specially created score performed live on stage by the Australian String Quartet. N.N.N.N. by Forsythe has its Australian premiere, with four dancers working as one. Bonachela reprises his 2004 work E2 7SD, a duet based on personal diaries.

Impermanence and Melanie Lane's WOOF, from season one of this year's SDC program, then tour nationally, from Perth to Cairns to Darwin to Dubbo, and more in between.

Season two sees the return of 2018's ab [intra] by Bonachela, a work set to a score of cello concerto mixed with ambient electronica.
