Five Seconds Of Summer rack up Aus, UK hits

More 5 Seconds Of Summer More 5 Seconds Of Summer

Sydney pop-punk boy band 5 Seconds Of Summer are celebrating a #1 hit in the UK today, with their track She Looks So Perfect shooting to the top just days after it went #1 in their homeland.

Over the weekend the track was the first local track to top the ARIA Singles Chart in 2014, and last year's One Direction support act have capitalised on the UK's love of young boy bands as well.

Aged between 17 and 19, the four-piece cultivated a following through YouTube covers before attracting major label attention – rather than taking the reality TV route.

On scoring the number one spot today they paid tribute to their massive fanbase, saying, “Thanks to every single one of you and you know exactly what for. You mean everything to us really. We love all of you lots and lots and lots.”

The band are managed by Matt Emsell, who also looks after Matt Corby and Grace Woodroofe, and are booked locally by Artist Voice's Brett Murrihy.

They have their own label Hi Or Hey Records through a partnership with Universal imprint Capitol Records.
