San Diego rock band Switchfoot have announced the release date of their ninth studio album, 'Fading West.' The album will be released on January 21st of next year, with a new preview EP coming on September 17th. The EP will feature a couple of tracks from the album to help tide fans over during the 6 month wait.
Fading West is a two-part project, made up of the band's ninth studio album and a feature length film of the same name, which will be released at the end of this year. You can check out the trailer for the film here.
Speaking of the album, drummer Chad Butler has said “I think it’s our best record, which is interesting for someone who’s been in the band since the beginning. You have albums that people buy more of, and there’s peaks and valleys in your career, but it’s not about the numbers. It’s what you love to do. And for me I feel like we were able to really rekindle that love for the ocean and that love for making music together through this journey we went on this last year.”
