Sweet JeanMelbourne indie outfit Sweet Jean will release their new album, titled Monday to Friday, on May 13 via ABC Music/Universal Music Australia.
Co-written by Sime Nugent and Alice Keath, Monday to Friday ranges from celestial synth-driven songs to observational pop gems, all backed by the duo's deft lyricism and razor-sharp harmonies. It is the product of close work with producer, friend and band mate John Castle (Vance Joy, Washington, The Bamboos), spent "swapping instruments, eating ramen and nutting out arrangements".
Plus, perhaps most important of all, the album art features a gorilla fighting a tiger. Kinda want a massive print of this.
Monday to Friday will be their second full-length release, following their critically acclaimed debut 2013 album, Dear Departure.
Sweet Jean and their live band will be embarking on a national tour in July, with details yet to be announced. Meanwhile, check out their smokey new single from Monday To Friday, Everything Changes, below.
