Music industry charity Support Act has confirmed more artists for Tune Ups, its “intimate and revealing” video series on mental health.
Set to premiere on Match 4, the seven-part series, released over seven weeks, will feature musicians Brendon Love (The Teskey Brothers), Fanny Lumsden, G Flip; Ziggy Ramo and Barkaa alongside industry heavyweights Sahara Herald (Tour Director of Frontier Touring) and Howard ‘Weird’ Freeman (CrewCare Co-Founder).
Tune Ups “goes deep into each subject’s raw, and deeply personal mental health journeys, in some cases further exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, what it took to take control of their own wellbeing and what they do now to stay on track”.
“Now more than ever we need to ensure that conversations around mental health happen publicly and regularly, especially in the music industry which sees alarming rates of mental illness persisting,” Support Act CEO Clive Miller said.
“The Tune Ups content series is not to sensationalise, but to show people they are not alone and that there is support available.
“We are working with both individuals and the industry to remove stigma and put in place strategies to increase support and resilience, including delivering mental health first aid training, increasing capacity of our Wellbeing Helpline, and developing a new online mental health portal with critical music industry specific resources.
“These programs are potentially life-saving.”
