It'll be the icons' first headline appearance in Newcastle in more than 20 years
Legendary Sydney act Sunnyboys have revealed that they’ll be following up this year’s earlier sold-out major-city tour with a pair of exclusive shows in Sydney and Newcastle this October.
Sydney fans will have a rare personal brush with the hometown heroes on Wednesday, October 8, at the Factory Theatre, with support from Carrie Phillis & The Downtown Three, while across in Newcastle, the band’s October 10 appearance at Panthers (with special guests TBA) marks their first headline appearance in the region in more than 20 years; they’ve graced the area just once since reforming in 2012, as guests of Elvis Costello at Maitland’s A Day On The Green event.
Sydneysiders are able to grab their tickets now; Newcastle faithful will have to wait just a smidge longer, until Friday, August 22, for their turn.
If you can’t make either of the live performances, don’t forget that Sunnyboy’s seminal self-titled debut has been remastered and buffed out with 26 bonus tracks; it’s available via Festival Records/Warner Music right now, as well as the band’s Our Best Of compilation.
