This March will see two of the best up and coming bands in Australia join forces and launch a full blown assault on the East Coast of Australia on a co – headlining tour spanning over 4 weeks. The two bands we speak of our Melbourne’s party barons ‘Stealing O’neal’ and Sydney’s sweethearts ‘The Mission in Motion’.
Along for the ride will also be the fresh-faced boys of Brisbane, ‘A Year to Remember’. To say that 2008 was a huge year for Melbourne boys, Stealing O’neal would be an understatement. The boys spent the majority of the year in their van and touring along side acts such as The Getaway Plan, In Fiction, Goodnight Nurse, Elora Danan and also included two very successful national headline tours, while also dropping in appearances at the Come Together Festival and Pushover leaving a trail of mayhem and pleased crowds behind them.
They also received their hit EP ‘Collidescope’ which debuted at number 2 on the AIR charts and went on to be nominated for the ‘best EP/single of 2008’ in the 2008 AIR Awards. Likewise, Sydney’s favourites, The Mission in Motion, have progressed from strength to strength during 2008. With the release of their 2nd EP “ A Curse, A Calling” which debuted at number 3 on the Air charts and continued to spend over 27 weeks in the top 20. Similar to their touring counterparts, The Mission in Motion spent a great deal of 2008 on the road playing alongside acts such as Escape the Fate (USA), Story of the Year (USA), The Matches(USA) and Elora Danan whilst headlining their own successful tours.
“The Good Times & Killer Rhymes” tour will coincide with the release of the bands new single the title track of their EP “ A Curse, A Calling” and will be the last chance for fans to see “ The Mission In Motion” , before they bunker down to begin work on their much anticipated new album. Joining this co-headline tour as very special guests will be ‘A Year to Remember’ who are virtually new kids on the block but have already turned many heads after signing to Melbourne based record label ‘Boomtown Records’. 2008 saw the band re-release their first EP and hit the road alongside acts such as The Getaway Plan, Ivoryline(USA) and Calling All Cars. With an undeniable catchiness if these boys don’t have you dancing with their pop-synths nothing will. The ‘Good Times and Killer Rhymes’ tour brings together three of the most exciting young bands from around Australia and throws them onto the stages of some of Australia’s premier venues.
Be sure to catch the tour as it races through your town.
