"Our intention is to pay ultimate respect to Wayne."
Honouring late frontman Wayne Static, original members of veteran industrial metal outfit Static-X will tour Australia this year to mark the 20th anniversary of the band’s debut album, Wisconsin Death Trip.
Static-X bassist Tony Campos, drummer Ken Jay and guitarist Koichi Fukuda will head Down Under in August with support from horror punks Wednesday 13 and hard rock legends Dope.
"Our intention is to pay ultimate respect to Wayne and to celebrate the music that has been in all of our hearts for more than 20 years,” Campos said.
“It's all about channelling the vibe from 1999 to the best of our ability and playing those classic Static-X songs live and loud with the fans."
Wayne Static passed away in 2014 at the age of 48.
