Stand Atlantic ProfileSydney pop-punk band Stand Atlantic have just skyrocketed to the top of the ARIA Charts for the first time with their fifth album, GODBREATH.
The album has hit #1 on the overall ARIA Albums Chart, the Australian Albums Chart, and #3 on the Vinyl Chart. GODBREATH marks the fourth time Stand Atlantic have landed in the top 30, following 2020’s Pink Elephant (#23), 2022’s F.E.A.R. (#10), and Was Here, which landed at #3 in 2024.
Reacting to the milestone, the band said, “Only gone n bloody done it.. GODBREATH is the #1 Album in Australia!! Thank u for supporting us and Australian music!! Happy GODBREATH week to u all; this is cool af and only possible bc of all of u, thank u thank u thank u.”
ARIA CEO, Annabelle Herd, added, “Congratulations to Stand Atlantic on their first ARIA #1 album! Bonnie [Fraser], David [Potter], Miki [Rich] and Jonno [Panichi] have climbed higher with every record, and this week they’ve gone all the way. It’s thrilling to see a fourth Australian #1 album for 2026, and we can’t wait to see the band take on the Warped Tour and across the US next month.”
Stand Atlantic aren’t the only Aussies who had an impressive week on the ARIA Charts.
Five-time ARIA Award winner Dan Sultan’s Little Miracles debuted at #5 on the Albums Chart, #2 on the Australian Albums Chart and #5 on the Vinyl Chart. And Boo Seeka’s Cigarettes on Sundown landed at #10 on the Albums Chart, #3 on the Australian Albums Chart and #2 on the Vinyl Chart.
Other artists who hit the Australian Albums Chart include Surprise Chef (#4), country singer Melanie Dyer (#6), Sydney rockers The Buoys (#7), and Windwaker (#9).
In a recent interview with The Music, Stand Atlantic’s Bonnie Fraser explained that the band wanted their latest album to embrace imperfections.
“I feel like with everything going on in the world and also with technology evolving, AI slop and all that shit, I think everyone is going to at some point really yearn for real shit that you can't recreate, and it's not perfect at all,” she said.
"I think that's what I was looking for when we were writing this as well," she added. "It's like, I don't want a perfect album, I want it to be imperfect, and I want to hear those little rough edges that I don't hear anymore right now.”
