More Splendour In The Grass More Splendour In The Grass

After the chaos and mud that was day two ofSplendour In The Grass, there was relief from the rain on day two.

To start with, DZ Deathrays became our heroes of Splendour after they drove to the Gold Coast to buy ten pairs of gumboots for their camping crew. That's the festival spirit we like to encourage.

Then there was the fantastic scenes during Mudhoney's set as fans of Lana Del Rey got in early to get a spot. A mixture of bewilderment and shock greeted them, as they were greeted with a wall of grunge. Most of them had Lana-esque flowers in their hair as well.

Our highlight was probablyThe Dirty Three, whose set we're calling "iconic".

As Brendan Telford said, "Signing off with a blistering version of Sue's Last Ride, Dirty Three enforce their iconic place in Australian - nay, global - musical history, the dotted line signed in their own feverish blood."

That said, we've vague memories of the end of the night - but pretty sure we're it ended in some sort of vodka drink.
