What is going on?
In a spirit-crushing turn of events, it looks like Splendour In The Grass organisers have put to bed those Rage Against The Machine rumours.
The iconic Californian band have been on everyone's Splendour wishlist since they announced their reunion late last year - a fake poster even did the rounds in November.
And while the festival declined to comment at the time, they have now taken to Twitter to put an end to it all.
"Unfortunately and just for those still hoping, RATM can’t make Australia around Splendour, we tried our very best," the Tweet reads.

The Tweet comes following an early release of dates and a promise from organisers that the line-up would be arriving early.
Guess that's what happens when you dare to dream, kids.
Splendour In The Grass will return to the North Byron Parklands from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 July.
