Splendour Update: "Day Two Is A Go"

"The site is weather affected and muddy! However, don’t let it wash away your spirit - we’ve waited 3 long years for this and have worked so hard to bring you the show."

After wild weather forced the cancellation of day one of Splendour in the Grass 2022 yesterday, organisers have released a statement this morning confirming that day two is going ahead as planned: albeit with an acknowledgement that the site is not in pristine condition. Yesterday's heartbreaking cancellation saw acts like The Gorillaz, The Avalanches and Kacey Musgraves unable to take the stage after an East Coast low dumped a huge amounts of rain in the 24 hours prior to opening, resulting in campgrounds being flooded, traffic snarls of over 10km leading into the event and some concertgoers forced to sleep in their cars.

The mood this morning is decidedly more upbeat however after some great impromptu shows overnight in various Byron Bay venues from some of the artists unable to grace the stages yesterday. Partygoers who did manage to get onsite yesterday refused to let the mood get them down, partying into the night and rolling with the mud-fest vibes. While gum boots will be absolutely necessary, it's hoped that music will cure all ills, with the main stage set to kick off at 1:15 with PUP.

Here's the full statement from organisers this morning:
