Rising Brissy songstress will now appear at both SITG and BIGSOUND
It's probably time to get well familiar with the name Airling. Not only has the demure Brisbane-based performer just been announced as part of 2014's simply massive BIGSOUND conference line-up, but also in the past 24 hours found out that she had been added to the bill for this year's Splendour In The Grass festival.
The addition comes courtesy of youth station triple j's Unearthed initiative, which provides unsigned local artists with a free platform from which to promote and publicise their music. Taking to Facebook yesterday to express equally her gratitude and surprise at joining the event, the Ouroboros and The Runner scribe described her festival spot as "amazing", going on to say, "my heart feels like it's exploding".

The announcement is complementary to the festival's revelation of Byron Bay five-piece Tora, who dabble in all things lush, lax and ultra-chilled, as the victors of its local band competition. Both acts join the previously announced, star-studded roster of acts that includes headliners OutKast, Lily Allen, Interpol and Two Door Cinema Club, alongside renowned acts such as Childish Gambino, Foster The People, Hilltop Hoods, Angus & Julia Stone, and a buttload more (not to mention the recently announced Red Bull Music Academy line-up).
