'90s British pop group Spice Girls have once again broken fans hearts, reportedly parting ways and abandoning their future plans.

It is rumoured that their animated film and a 2023 world tour have been cancelled.

An anonymous source revealed to The Sun that "it was going brilliant — but COVID killed the momentum".

“Now it’s done again. There’s nothing on the agenda and they’re focusing on their own things," the insider said.

“The girls loved being back on stage and it reinvigorated their love for performing. But a few years of lockdown and everyone’s back has turned on the group in favour of other projects.”

Geri "Halliwell" Horner and Mel B had been the driving forces behind the group's massive 2019 reunion tour, which peaked at sold-out gigs at Wembley Stadium.

The now-scrapped animated film would have seen the band voice superhero characters as they vowed to reignite the Girl Power Movement.
