The main lineup for Soundwave 2013 could be released as early as August 8th if all goes to plan. Festival head honcho AJ Maddah has stated on Twitter that he hopes to release the bulk of the lineup next Wednesday, with tickets to be released on August 15th.

The outspoken promoter has boasted an impressive lineup for the tenth year of his festival, with 52 bands of a higher calibre than previous years set to take part. The main lineup release will be supplemented with a smaller announcement of Australian bands, local openers and some internationals in the coming months.

As with previous years, there has already been a dripfeed of leaks and official confirmations, with Of Mice And Men, Woe Is Me, Stone Sour, Cancer Bats, Kingdom Of Sorrow and Six Feet Under set to make the trip to our shores. Speculation has been rife about what other names will take part in the festival, but punters will have to wait until next week at the earliest to hear the hard facts.

The price of the event will be increased by $20 this year to compensate for the higher costs of the artists involved. AJ has told punters to anticipate a quick sell-out.

The dates for Soundwave 2013 are as follows:

Saturday 23rd February – Brisbane
Sunday 24th February – Sydney
Friday 1st March – Melbourne
Saturday 2nd March – Adelaide
Monday 4th March – Perth
