Some Kind Of Monster a stupid idea

Lars Ulrich of Metallica has admitted to The Sun Herald that he thinks making the band's documentary "Some Kind of Monster" was a stupid mistake.

The drummer of the metal kings said that in retrospect making their 2004 film, which gave significant insight into the band's dysfunctional dynamic, was "stupid". 

"Every time I see Noel Gallagher he quotes lines from that movie back to me," he said. "That thing has taken on a life of its own. I had to live that shit for three fucking years! The whole thing was a mindfuck."

"Some Kind of Monster" followed the band as they recorded their album "St Anger" in 2003, and simultaneously undergoing group therapy. According to Ulrich allowing the cameras to document the band in such a difficult time was therefore a terrible mistake.

"I am aware a lot of other musicians seem to have lived a lot of those moments. They weren't necessarily stupid enough to film them like we were and share them with the rest of the world."

After negative responses to "St Anger", the last release from Metallica entitled "Death Magnetic" was met with critical and popular acclaim. Nevertheless, perhaps associating with Oasis is yet another stupid mistake.
