So, We Interviewed Michael Cera For 'Sausage Party' & It Was Kinda Weird

Fun...but weird.

2016's crudest and arguably funniest film, Sausage Party, has just dropped in cinemas around the world and prior to its release, we spoke with one of the movie's leading stars, Michael Cera

Understandably, the Arrested Development and Superbad actor is a very busy man so our interview with him was conducted over email.

Below is our honest-to-God exchange with Michael Cera.

Besides a cameo spot in 'This Is The End', this is the first time you've gotten back with Seth Rogen and crew since 'Superbad'. How was the experience this time around?

"Very fun!"

What were your initial thoughts when you heard the idea and then got to read the script?

"Actually I never read a script, which I think is more or less a custom of working on an animated film. It seems that the writing process is more or less alive and evolving all the way until the completion of the film, so you only get a sense of the movie you're making by going in and recording and picking up clues as you go."

The cast for 'Sausage Party' is huge. How much time did you get to spend with the other actors?

"The only day I interacted with any of the other cast members was when we shot a live-action alternate ending, which I don't believe made it into the final version of the film. Otherwise I was all alone in a recording-booth vacuum, which is by far my favourite way of working."

Who is your favourite character and cast member in this movie?

"I love Salma Hayek's taco shell in the movie. She's adorable."

Do you have any plans to do more projects with Rogen and crew in the future?

"As a matter of fact we're trying to develop an idea at the moment, which perhaps hopefully one day will transmogrify into an actual thing."

What other films or projects do you have coming up?

"I worked on a film called Human People, which I think will be coming out shortly."

Can you tell us any more about 'Arrested Development' supposedly starting filming on season five early next year?

"That'd be cool!"

So, basically, this is how the conversation went in meme form.
