The riot grrrl/indie-rock legends will play a few extra shows to sate the local faithful early next year

More Sleater-Kinney More Sleater-Kinney

Venerated indie-rock legends Sleater-Kinney have beefed out their existing 2016 Australian shows — a spot at Golden Plains Festival and two Melbourne performances — with an extra three gigs being added to their run, including an evening in the iconic surrounds of the Sydney Opera House.

Fans outside Victoria who were previously worried about having to — gulp — visit the state needn't fret any longer, as Sleater-Kinney will now kick off their 2016 Aussie commitments at Adelaide's HQ on Friday 4 March, hitting The Triffid, in Brisbane, on Saturday 5 March. Then comes the big spotlight of the Sydney Opera House, on Sunday 6 March, with their spate of headline shows rounded out with the double-header in Melbourne, at The Croxton, on 9-10 March.

Tickets for Sleater-Kinney's Adelaide, Brisbane and second Melbourne shows (the first is sold out) are on sale now via Oztix; the Sydney Opera House will put its passes up for grabs from this Friday via its website.
