Slayer wait for Hanneman before writing new material

Iconic thrash metallers Slayer are set to wait for permanent guitarist Jeff Hanneman to make a full recovery from his serious arm infection before contemplating working on new material.Vocalist/bassist Tom Araya recently chatted with Billboard.com about the band and Hanneman, who is still recovering from necrotizing fasciitis, supposedly contracted from a spider bite. In the interview, Araya says the band won't do any recording without the long-time guitarist."As a band we're not going to do something without him. He's an integral part of the band. We require his musical skills, his writing skills. He's an integral part of the band. So we're going to hold off until he's at 100 percent and can join that process and be part of it."In Hanneman's absence, Slayer have recruited Exodus guitarist Gary Holt and Cannibal Corpse axeman Pat O'Brien to fill the temporary void at respective stages.
