Site Of Former Iconic Melbourne Recording Studio Up For Sale
It's on the market.
The site of former historic Melbourne recording space, Bill Armstrong Recording Studios, is officially on the open market.
As Commercial Real Estate reports, the 2580-square-metre site at 180 Bank Street, South Melbourne is expected to sell for an estimated $30 million.
Armstrong's, which also previously served as a butter factory and a movie production space, was arguably Australia's most important independent music studio throughout the '60s and '70s.
The Easybeats recorded the backing track for She's So Fine in the studio during that time, while John Farnham also recorded Sadie there.

Other names to have worked in the studio include Skyhooks and Daddy Cool, who recorded their hit track, Eagle Rock.
"There is definitely a lot of creative nostalgia associated with 180 Bank Street but the possibilities for the property are endless," Daniel Wolman, Colliers International director Melbourne City sales team, investment services, said.
"The property also has possibilities for residential conversion."
Expressions of interest close on 20 June.
