"What once was safe place that many of us called home, is no more."

After just 18 months, Sydney underground venue, Zoo Project, is closing its doors.

Management confirmed in a statement posted to Facebook on Wednesday that the Kings Cross club will shut down next week, though they insist they are on the hunt for a new location to reopen.

"Sadly and unfortunately due to many reasons, as of next week, Zoo Project will no longer be open in the current location," the post reads.

"We have appointed a new professional team to assist us with finding a NEW location. This transition may take sometime. However we are confident in finding a new venue very soon."

It continues, "To all of you who were a part of it, whether it was working, organising or simply just dancing, thank you, without you it wouldn't of been possible."
