'1000 Forms Of Fear' tops the Billboard chart
The all-conquering Sia has landed her first US number one album through her new record 1000 Forms Of Fear.
The LP sold 52,000 copies the week ending Sunday 13 July in the States, according to Billboard. Her last two albums, We Are Born (2010) and Some People Have Real Problems (2008) peaked in the US at 37 and 26 respectively. Sia is the first Aussie to land the US number one album since country star Keith Urban did last September with Fuse. Billboard officially update their chart info sometime within the next 24 hours.
The success of 1000 Forms Of Fear in the US follows on from the album’s lead single Chandelier, which peaked at 17 in the Billboard Hot 100. The singer-songwriter, born and bred in Adelaide, made a couple of rare US TV appearances, including The Ellen Show, in the lead-up to the album’s release, all the while maintaining her somewhat recluse media image she’s become known for.
Sia has also co-written several chart-topping US top ten over the years including Rihanna's Diamonds and David Guetta's Titanium.
