The NYE festival won't go ahead this year
Bondi Beach New Year's Eve festival Shore Thing has been cancelled after lengthy discussions between the event and local councils were held.
Despite being a popular festival on the NYE season calendar for music fans, Shore Thing has been a slightly contentious event for the local community and councils, over issues such as noise and not being suitable for the families within the area.
In the statement, Shore Thing thanked the local councils and police for their support since the event began in the mid-2000s:
"After lengthy discussions with Council and other stakeholders, it has been agreed that the Shore Thing event will not take place this New Years Eve at Bondi Beach."

The event said they hoped to return in 2015, but no further details have been revealed about Shore Thing's future as yet.
Previous Shore Thing's have played host to Skrillex, Snoop Dogg and The Chemical Brothers.
The festival is run by Fuzzy Events and Mi5.
