Spin Out, written and directed by writer and comedian Tim Ferguson, wil commence shooting in regional Victoria this month.

The film, co-written with Edwina Exton and co-directed with Marc Gracie, is being described as a comedy-romance with "electrifying UTE 'circle work' action", and stars Twilight: Breaking Dawn's Xavier Samuel as Billy and San Andreas actress Morgan Griffin as Lucy.

The supporting cast includes Lincoln Lewis, Melissa Bergland and Brooke McClymont of The McClymonts

The film follows Billy and Lucy as they confront their romantic feelings for one another - at their town's Ute Muster and B&S Ball.

Of the film Ferguson said in a statement: "Spin Out has been in development for many years, so to finally be able to celebrate and share these uniquely Australian cultural events, is just wonderful and lots of fun, especially as several of the incidents in the story have been inspired by our own personal experiences... some of which were very naughty!"

Spin Out will be shot on location in Victoria's Shepparton from 18 August until 13 September.

Spin Out will be in cinemas through Sony Pictures in mid-2016.
