It's pronounced 'Five Eyes', because we know you were wondering
Trans-ditch hard-rock heavyweights Shihad have announced that they will release their forthcoming full-length FVEY (“Five Eyes”) on Friday, August 15.
First single Think You're So Free paints a brutal picture of what to expect on the band's tenth studio LP, which was tracked in December last year at Auckland's renowned York Street Studio, helmed by Killing Joke frontman Jaz Coleman.
As ever, Shihad wear their social conscience on their sleeves with the lyrical themes and narratives set to be canvassed on FVEY, with colourful frontman Jon Toogood explaining: “I just wanted to talk about the widening gap between the rich and the poor, and the ugly conclusion of free market capitalism when it goes crazy without any constraints and how it's a soulless and selfish, disgusting void."
“My intention for the record was to illuminate that for myself and just to say what was in my head rather than grumbling about it on Facebook," he said in a statement.
