Check out this week's Aussie airplay charts!
Big upsets this week across Australia’s airplay charts, with Ed Sheeran toppling Adele in the last week before the industry heads for a well-earned Christmas break. Sheeran bumped Adele back to #3 on this week’s Radio Monitor Hot 50 with Elton John and Dua Lipa making a last-minute dash for the top to land at #2.
Last week’s new entry from Acraze becomes this week’s biggest mover, jumping up thirteen places into the top 20 in its second week. And it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, with Wham! re-entering at #45 with Last Christmas and Band Aid saying a prayer for the other ones in at #49, joining Mariah’s festive staple which has been kicking around for the last couple of weeks for those early Christmas shoppers.
Over on the Countrytown chart, the tussle between The Wolfe Brothers and Casey Barnes results in another baton change, with King Casey taking the top spot with his heart-melter God Took His Time On You. This week’s sole new entry comes from Wesley Dean, previously known as Australian Idol winner Wes Carr, in at #34 for the first time.

The National Indigenous Music Chart ends the year with stability as The Kid LAROI extends his Stay at #1 (see what we did there?). Acraze extends his #1 stay on the triple j 20 with Do It To It, while Shouse retains the Aussie chart title, while Ruel’s new one Growing Up Is ___ makes a move along with Kylie’s Santa Baby bring some Aussie content to Christmas playlists.
Over on TikTok it looks like the kids have moved on from Christmas (urgh, that was SO last week) with last week's big ones taking a dive in favour of... the likes of Rod Stewart’s Do Ya Think I’m Sexy and Coolio’s Gangsta’s Paradise of course. The top spot goes to SALES with Pope Is A Rock Star, a nice little lo-fi ditty that we in the office here are glad managed to edge out Rod Stewart. At least have the decency to give N-Trance a run.
