Check out his new tune and tell us what you think
Former Short Stack frontman Shaun Diviney has unveiled four big tour dates in celebration for the release of his debut EP Sex/Games, the highly anticipated collection of tunes from the musician who is going about it himself to make it in the industry.
Forming his own virtual label with longtime manager Trevor Steel, called Neon Church Records, Newcastle's Diviney used a Pledge campaign to get his EP into production – a Pledge campaign which reached 100% of its target in just 24 hours.
His popularity is also evident when he uploaded song You're So Cool to YouTube as a teaser for the upcoming release, gaining 10,000 hits within the first day of exposure.
Diviney is not foreign to success in the industry, his former band Short Stack named Channel [v]'s Artist of the Year twice, had two Gold selling records, including a debut #1 on the ARIA charts, headlined the Opera House and made it to the cover of Rolling Stone.
The release, recorded from Sydney to Los Angeles, sees the musician experiment with a more mature, rock feel, with aspects that don't drift too far from the well-known sound of Short Stack.
Check out the EP's title track, which is, well, pretty self-explanatory – co-produced by Short Stack's Bradie Webb and mixed by Los Angeles' Mark Needham of Pink and The Killers fame, and is peaking at number three on the iTunes rock charts.
Sex/Games will be released Monday 1 July.
