At the premiere of her new film at the Toronto International Film Festival, soul singer Sharon Jones announced her pancreatic cancer had returned.
As reported by Thompson On Hollywood, Jones broke the news to fans during an after-screening performance over the weekend, where she confirmed her chemotherapy begins on Wednesday.
“I’m gonna keep fighting. We got a long way to go,” she said.
After beating cancer in 2013, Jones released Give The People What They Want last year and toured Australia, and just this past week screenings of Miss Sharon Jones! have begun.
The new film details her battle with cancer and return to music and has been received well by critics.
