The prize-giving ceremony is held in Sydney this November
Australian composers Adam Gock and Dinesh Wicks — aka The D.A's Office — have been announced as the recipients of the International Achievement Award ahead of the 2014 Screen Music Awards, being held in Sydney in November.
The pair has composed scores for a veritable raft of high-profile local shows since 2006, including Sea Patrol, The Apprentice, Beauty And The Geek, The Biggest Loser, Dating In The Dark, Celebrity Apprentice and Farmer Wants A Wife. They wrote music for National Geographic and Discovery channel documentaries, as well as lending their talents to the soundscape for the very first season of MasterChef back in 2009. So popular has that theme proven that their composition has gone on to appear in 65 international iterations of the program, including the US and UK's versions.
In the time since, they've won an eye-popping array of awards, relocating to LA in 2012 and picking up a combined seven gongs from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. They've composed for The Biggest Loser UK, The Face US, Sesame Street, One Born Every Minute US, Tabitha's Salon Takeover, Forage Wars, The Big Deal, Animal SWAT, Megafactories and many other programs.
"It is a phenomenal effort by Adam and Dinesh over the last few years," APRA AMCOS chief executive Brett Cottle said in a statement. "Their work forms part of the world's most popular television productions and they are providing opportunities for many Australian composers in the US market. It is highly appropriate we honour their achievements at this year's Screen Music Awards."

The 2014 Screen Music Awards will be held at City Recital Hall, in Sydney, on Wednesday, November 12. The evening will be hosted by Rob Carlton; check the full list of nominees for other prizes here.
