Renowned Australian singer-songwriter Missy Higgins leads the third artist announcement for this year’s Savannah in the Round, where she joins an already stacked line-up.

Known for hits such as Scar, The Special Two, Futon Couch, A Complicated Truth and many more, Higgins is the voice behind some of the most recognisable contemporary Australian music.

Her debut album, The Sound of White, released in 2004, reached #1 in Australia and achieved multi-Platinum status. 20 years later, Higgins released a companion album, The Second Act, which also shot straight to #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart.

Joining Higgins on the latest artist announcement are the beloved covers band, Furnace and the Fundamentals, and rising country-pop star Bella Mackenzie.

The newly announced acts have been added to a line-up of over 60 Australian and international music icons, including ICEHOUSE, Don McLean, Tyler Braden, Lee Kernaghan, Ian Moss & Troy Cassar-Daley, The Wolfe Brothers, San Cisco, Kingswood, Busby Marou, and many others.

Savannah in the Round returns to the Mareeba Rodeo Arena from Thursday, 8 to Sunday, 11 October. The annual festival will spotlight four days of live music, camping, food and entertainment in Tropical North Queensland.

Tickets and camping packages are available here.

In a statement, Festival Director and Sound Australia Managing Director James Dein said of the latest announcement, “Missy Higgins was an important addition to a program showcasing some of the country’s most recognised artists alongside emerging talent.

“Having Missy join us in Mareeba adds another layer to an already strong program. She is one of Australia’s most celebrated musicians, and we are really excited to add her to the program.”

Minister for the Environment and Tourism Andrew Powell MP added, “Supporting events like Savannah in the Round is a key part of our Destination 2045 plan to grow Queensland’s visitor economy and cement our position as Australia’s events capital.”

Powell continued, “This year’s event is expected to generate nearly 62,000 direct visitor nights and inject $12.7 million into the Queensland economy, delivering real benefits for local businesses, tourism operators, and communities across Tropical North Queensland.

“Securing internationally recognised artists like Missy Higgins gives music fans another reason to visit the region, with thousands expected to travel to Mareeba and experience everything the Tropical North has to offer.

“Events of this scale do more than deliver great entertainment; they support local jobs, drive visitor spending and provide a valuable boost to businesses across the region.”
