Sampa The Great Announces ‘An Afro Future’ 2021 Australian Tour

It’s been an absolutely huge year for Sampa The Great and 2021 is already shaping up to be another big one with news today of a special run of shows next March.

With new music expected next year, the local hip hop talent has announced An Afro Future, a series of live shows across Sydney, Melbourne and WOMADelaide early next year with some serious talent in tow.

Joined by a full band, Sampa The Great will perform tracks from her acclaimed 2019 The Return, which saw her recently pick up three ARIA Awards, including Best Independent Release, Best Female Artist and Best Hip Hop Release.

Hip hop virtuoso Genesis Owusu has been confirmed as a special guest in Sydney and Melbourne, while Kaiit, Ebony Boadu and Barkaa perform in Sydney and Sampa’s younger sister and rising neo-soul star, Mwanjé, makes an appearance in Melbourne alongside C-Frim.
