The New Dead will host 17 Aussie acts including King Parrot, Lord and Vanishing Point
Australia's biggest celebration of locally made metal goodness, The New Dead, is back for round five at Fowler's Live this month, with the festival today unveiling the esteemed artists that will inhabit the line-up for this year's licensed all-ages event on Saturday, May 31.
Leading the charge of 17 Aussie acts will be current dukes of crushing it, King Parrot, who are recently returned from a US jaunt that saw them melt American faces to broad acclaim.
They'll be joined by Sydneysiders and New Dead vets Lord, Perth-based modern-day Vikings Claim The Throne, Canberran prog-metal outfit Aeon Of Horus, Queensland's own Kyzer Soze, West Australian purveyors of symphonic death metal Advent Sorrow, and Victorian contingent Harlott, Bronson, Hadal Maw and Vanishing Point, who are currently promoting new album Distant Is The Sun.

Local fans, fear not – South Australian bands will be well represented, with Adelaide outfits Truth Corroded, Sebonkira, Dyssidia, Headbore, Voros, Gorlapse and the fledgling Amoderndeath all scheduled to make an appearance, which should keep acolytes of the many varied and nuanced metal sub-genres pretty darn happy.
It's guaranteed to be a jam-packed evening of quality shreddage, and all for a measly $25 (plus bf, via Moshtix) or $30 at the door.
