He'll have his latest album in tow
Oscar- and Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Ryan Bingham has announced he'll be flying to our east coast shores this April for a tour, having recently released the acclaimed, Fear And Saturday Night.
Known for penning the Academy Award-winning theme song, The Weary Kind, for the film Crazy Heart, Bingham's tour will be conducted semi-acoustically, though his album is recorded with a backing band.
Having struggled with the loss of his parents as his song was going up for the Oscars, Bingham says Fear And Saturday Night was born from a lot of grief.
"A lot of people didn't realise when that Oscar stuff was going on and Junky Star was released, I was dealing with the loss of my parents.

"My mother drank herself to death, and my father shot himself. I was also going through a huge transition with the band - we were breaking up - and I felt so lost playing with different musicians for the first time in years."
Bingham will first grace Sydney's The Basement on 22 April, before heading to Cronulla's Brass Monkey, Newcastle's Lizottes, Melbourne's Northcote Social, Bendigo's Capital Theatre, Byron Bay's Byron Theatre and Brisbane's Woolly Mammoth on Saturday, 30 April.
