Perth shines a spotlight on music documentaries with a presentation of seven films over six days
RTRFM has returned for their third Gimme Some Truth music documentary festival this December to feature a world premiere film and five Australian features for a total of seven films over six days to be held at Luna Outdoor in Leederville, Perth.
Gimme Some Truth opens on Friday 4 December and will run until Wednesday 9 December, hosting a diverse range of genres from the Indigenous Australian feature Prison Songs to the brutal music scene of Africa’s Malian fight against the Islamic extremists in They Will Have To Kill Us First, to punk-rock’s world of fashion (Her Aim Is True) and a take on New York’s Latin music culture of the 1960s in opening flick We Like It Like That: The Story Of Latin Boogaloo.
As well, the Gimme Some Truth line-up will include features from the true story of former Breakfast radio presenter Peter Barr away from music, and recording journalist Alex Lomax, who follows the stories of up-and-coming musicians and their unique way of making music.
