Dig deep to help out an independent, non-profit radio station

Perth community radio station RTRFM have announced that this year's Radiothon fundraising event will feature the garden theme and will be held from 6am on Friday, 14 August to midday on Sunday, 23 August.

The independent, non-profit station urges listeners to empty their pockets, or "dig deep" as per the event's garden theme, as much as possible to support the station through subscriptions and donations, with revenue raised during the Radiothon period contributing to 30% of the station's annual operating income.

The colossal Radiothon Party kicks off during the fundraising drive's first weekend on Saturday, 15 August, with the stating curating 23 live acts across five venues in Northbridge — Jimmy's Den, The Bird, Studio Underground foyer, Connections Nightclub and the Lounge.

You'll be able to catch the best talent WA has to offer, from the likes of The Love Junkies, Pat Chow, Mugwump, Rat Columns, Red Jezebel, Heathcote Blue and more. Each venue will have a different sort of vibe, from the chill of the Lounge to the dance party grooves of Connections to the garage and jangle-rock of The Bird.

The Studio Underground foyer will also host a Radiothon-themed episode of talk show, Magnolia's Late Night Live, with Tristan Fidler and Matt Aitken.

As well as the live shows on display, during Radiothon, each program on RTRFM will feature special content with guests, live performances, prizes and interviews.

Listeners donating money or subcribing to RTRFM will be entered into a slew of prize draws to win backstage passes, flights and accommodation to WOMADelaide, a home solar package and much more.
