Up and coming and truely hyped producer and DJ, RONA. has announced her forthcoming debut EP, Closure which is due for release on the 20th of May. Alongside the announcement, the Kaytetye artist has continued to tease the body of work with her new single TIOLI.
RONA. was born into a talented family of filmmakers, and pursued music in her spare time, outside of a career in storytelling and advocacy work for First Nations people, knowledge and cultures. Her musical work was informed by lived experiences and balancing them with pioneering electronic artists, such as Four Tet, Bicep and Floating Points. What's eventuated is a slew of big performances, including appearances at Strawberry Fields & Sun Cycle festivals, as well as supporting the likes of Bradley Zero, Chaos in the CBD and tornado Wallace.
The highly anticipated debut EP explores the chaos in life and its juxtaposition with progressive and meditative dance music. It is within this balance and its deeply contemplative moments that the EP finds its legs, one that is centred in personal storylines and grounded in Country.

It articulates these moments through a melodic and euphoric journey of place and memory.”

Her latest single TIOLI is a melancholic, plaintive dance track, packed with natural soundscapes. It's percussive sonnics and gorgeous synths create a distinct universe that is truely hers.
RONA. continues on TIOLI, “In writing this track I wanted to embody feelings of tension between where you currently are and where you want to be. The atmospheric groove of breakbeat percussion, organic instruments and dreamy vocals shapes a journey between strong energy and stillness”.
